a form and a database. Clock-in software priced per head — which meant every time
I hired a Saturday kid, my software bill went up.
I built replacements because I was already paying for the originals and could
finally see what they actually were. Then something I didn't expect: the
replacements were better. Not because I'm a better engineer — I'm not an
engineer at all — but because I was the one using them at 6am, and I couldn't
ship myself a bad workflow and go home.
